Pursuant to Article 23(2) of Law 4481/2017, collective management organizations draw up a tariffs table they require from users, which must be made known to the public not by publication in newspapers, as was previously the case, but by online publication.
According to the law: Collective management organizations, by decision of their Board of Directors, draw up a schedule of the fees they require from users (fee schedule), which is made public by posting it on their website, as well as any amendments thereto, and is immediately notified to the Hellenic Copyright Organization (HCO), so that it may also be posted on the latter’s website in a machine-readable format, at a fixed point of access, and, where possible, made accessible through application programming interfaces (APIs).
These postings constitute a condition for the validity of the remuneration fees. In the formulation and application of their fee schedules, collective management organizations are required to apply objective criteria, to act without arbitrariness, and to refrain from abusive discrimination.
GEA, in implementation of the law, publishes its fee schedule in accordance with the new online procedure provided for under Law 4481/2017.
